ROAD DOGS! Op/Ed
Observations from Two Road Dogs Myself and my fiance in the past year have traveled the entire country, east to west, north to south. We kept a close eye on the cities we passed through and how the people treated us; all different races that make up our great country. And, we were pleasantly surprised!! Now, we didn't go to Portland, or NYC, but we went through most of the major cities throughout the U.S. Interestingly, we found people to be very friendly, regardless of race, with a few exceptions. We found that some of the reservation areas throughout the Midwest were overtly unwelcoming to us, and left us leaving a gas station with a really bad feeling. In Florida, I had a black couple literally turn their back on me when I addressed them, refusing to speak to me because of my caucasian skin color. HOWEVER, I found the African American population (very large deep Southern city) to be kind, talkative, engaging, and basically just made our visit a very pleasant one. Interestingly...
